A ONE-PERSON PROJECT

WHY SHOVROOM EXISTS

shoVROOM is a home for the cars you love — the 1:64 on your shelf, the 1:18 in the cabinet, and the real one in the driveway. Think of it as a logbook for collectors: catalogue what you own, track what it’s worth, and see who else keeps the same models.

WHAT IT’S FOR

Collectors already keep this in spreadsheets, camera rolls and their heads. shoVROOM pulls it into one tidy place:

  • A growing catalogue of real releases — Mini GT, Kaido House, Tarmac, Pop Race, Davis & Giovanni, Amalgam and more — with a page for every model.
  • Your own shelf: what you own, what you paid, what it's worth now, and the notes only you'd write.
  • A wishlist, a rate manager for multi-currency values, and a listing board where collectors show what they'd sell or trade.

Everything you enter is yours. I don’t appraise it, verify it or sell your data — the details are in the fine print.

BUILT BY ONE PERSON, FOR FUN

This is a hobby project by a single founder who collects cars, not a funded company with a team behind it. It’s built in evenings and weekends, it’s in beta, and it will have rough edges. That’s also the good part: it’s made by someone who actually uses it, and feedback goes straight to the person who can act on it.

AN HONEST NOTE ON AI COSTS

The AI scan and AI research features — snap a photo, get the model identified and its details filled in — call a paid AI model behind the scenes, which costs real money per scan. So the AI is metered — openly, so you always know where you stand:

  • Every account gets 2 free AI credits to try it out. When they're used up, you can still add and edit everything by hand — only the AI shortcut pauses.
  • There's a shared community pool of 300 AI scans across the whole site. You'll see how much is left; when it's dry, scanning pauses for everyone until I top it up.
  • More credits will be granted in later versions as the project (and the budget) grows.

It’s a deliberate allowance — enough to feel how good the scan is, sized so a one-person project can keep it free for everyone. More comes as the project grows.

WHAT’S NEW

The catalogue and the app move fast. The big stuff, most recent first:

SEPTEMBER 2026
  • The catalogue passed 19,000 releases across 25 brands — added AUTOart, Kyosho, Minichamps, Maisto, Solido, GT Spirit, OttO mobile and IXO.
  • A BRANDS menu in the top nav and every brand on the search page — each with a link out to the maker’s own site.
  • Every account now starts with 2 free AI scan credits, drawn from a shared community pool (see the note on AI costs above).
AUGUST 2026
  • Premium-scale makers joined: Davis & Giovanni and Amalgam Collection (1:8 hand-built), plus Norev, LookSmart, Sun Star, Ignition Model, Spark and Inno64.
  • Batch photo scan — upload one photo of a whole haul and the AI drafts the list for you to review and save together.
  • A collector marketplace: list a model to sell or trade and buyers contact you directly, with automated moderation and report buttons throughout.
  • Google sign-in, search within a brand, and refreshed Mini GT and Kaido House catalogues.
